This helps us understand the man, but we've still have some conflicting data that needs to be clarified!!!
On the Maple Grove Cemetery web site:

It is shown as Bert Wells, City
Mayor from 1927-1939.
Same man?
If so, why the two spellings and positions?
Should we have a 'U' or an 'E' on our building?
